Who we are

This website (puchutech.com) is operated by PUCHU Technologies SMC, trading as PUCHU Technologies, based at Kajjansi Town Council, Busiro, Wakiso District, Uganda. For any question about this policy or your data, contact us at info@puchutech.com.

What data this website collects, and why

This site collects personal data in exactly two places, and nowhere else. There is no user account system, no third-party analytics script currently active, and no advertising tracking of any kind.

1. The contact form

When you submit the contact form, we collect the name, email address, organisation (if provided) and message you enter, along with the IP address your submission came from and the time it was sent. This information is emailed directly to the relevant PUCHU Technologies inbox (general, sales, support or careers, depending on what you selected) so we can reply to you. It is not stored in a database on this server — it exists only as an email in our mailbox, which is protected the same way any other business email is.

2. The newsletter signup

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address, the date you subscribed, and the page you subscribed from in a private file on our server that is not accessible over the web. We use this list only to send the occasional newsletter described at signup — no more than roughly once a month — and we never sell, rent or share it with anyone else. Every newsletter includes a way to unsubscribe; you can also email us directly to be removed at any time.

Cookies this site sets

This site sets exactly one cookie: a session cookie used to protect the contact and newsletter forms against cross-site request forgery (a security technique, not a tracking one). It contains no personal data, is not used to track you across visits or other websites, and expires automatically when your browser session ends. See our Cookie Policy for full detail.

Anti-spam and security data

To prevent automated spam, form submissions are rate-limited by IP address using a small, private log file that is automatically cleared on a rolling basis. This is a security measure only — it is not used for marketing or profiling.

How long we keep data

Contact form submissions exist only as email in our inbox and are kept per our normal business email retention practice. Newsletter subscriber records are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, at which point they are removed from our list.

Your rights

Under Uganda's Data Protection and Privacy Act, you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to request its correction, and to request its deletion. Email info@puchutech.com with your request and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Third parties

We do not share the data described above with third parties, except where legally required. This site's contact form is sent through our own email infrastructure, not a third-party form service. If we activate Google Analytics in future (currently shipped inactive on this site — see our Cookie Policy), this section will be updated before that happens, not after.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "last updated" date at the top of this page will change too. Material changes affecting how newsletter subscriber data is used will be communicated by email to subscribers.
